Terms of Service

The short version: WheatAndGoats is a discovery tool. Match scores are our software's estimates, not facts about any congregation. Always confirm with the church.

Draft draft-2026-07This document is pending review by legal counsel. It reflects how WheatAndGoats actually handles data today, but it has not yet had that review and it is not legal advice.

Effective date: August 1, 2026
Provider: Rockstarr LLC, doing business as Wheat and Goats ("Wheat and Goats", "WAG", "we", "us", "our")
Service: the website and web app (the "Service")

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Wheat and Goats is

Wheat and Goats helps you find a local Christian church that may match your religious beliefs. You answer a doctrine quiz of belief statements, and we show you nearby churches ranked by a computed "belief-match" percentage. The Service also publishes basic contact information about churches and lets authorized church representatives claim and manage a church's listing.

The Service is an informational and discovery tool. It is not religious, spiritual, pastoral, legal, or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for visiting a church, speaking with its leaders, and forming your own judgment.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the quiz. See the Privacy Policy.
  • You may use core features without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.
  • You may close your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for deletion.

3. The nature of belief-match scores: algorithmic estimates, not facts about a church

This section is important. Please read it. The belief-match percentages, rankings, tags, and doctrinal summaries the Service shows are algorithmic estimates generated by our software. They are our opinion-like computed output, not statements of fact about what any specific congregation, its leaders, or its members actually believe, teach, or practice. In particular:

  • A church's score is frequently inherited from the broader tradition, denomination, or family the church is classified under, rather than measured from that specific congregation. Individual congregations vary, sometimes greatly, from their tradition.
  • Scores are derived from data that may be incomplete, out of date, mis-classified, or wrong, including third-party directory data and OpenStreetMap data.
  • A score reflects a similarity computation against the answers you gave, not an endorsement, certification, ranking of "better" or "worse", or any claim that a church holds or rejects a particular doctrine.
  • We do not verify the current doctrine of most listed churches. A high or low score is not a factual assertion about that church.

You should treat every score as a starting point for your own research, not as a verified fact. Always confirm directly with a church before relying on anything you see here.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to harass, defame, threaten, or discriminate against any church, group, or person.
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download the Service, its church database, or its scores, except as expressly permitted (see Section 10 on OpenStreetMap data and Section 12 on API access).
  • Misrepresent your authority to claim or edit a church listing.
  • Upload false, misleading, unlawful, or infringing content, or attempt to manipulate scores or reviews.
  • Interfere with, overload, probe, or attack the Service, or bypass security or rate limits.
  • Use the Service to build a competing database, resell our data, or use our compiled database to train machine-learning or AI models, in each case without our prior written permission. This restriction does not limit rights the Open Database License grants over OpenStreetMap-derived data (Section 10).

We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

5. Your quiz answers and privacy

Your doctrine quiz answers describe your religious beliefs and are sensitive personal data. We collect and use them only with your explicit consent, as described in the Privacy Policy and presented at the consent gate before the quiz. You control them and can delete them. Nothing in these Terms overrides the Privacy Policy on that point.

Share links. Where sharing features are available, you decide what a share card shows before you create it, and you are responsible for where you post the link. Anyone with the link can view the card, and social platforms will render a preview of it. You can revoke a share at any time and the link stops working, but revoking cannot recall copies or screenshots others made while it was live. Do not use share cards to impersonate someone else or to misrepresent another person's beliefs or church affiliation. See Privacy Policy Section 5.1 for exactly what a share link exposes.

6. Church listings and the accuracy disclaimer

Church listings include information such as name, address, phone, email, website, affiliation, and our computed scores. This information is gathered from public directories, from OpenStreetMap, and from church representatives who claim listings.

We provide listings and scores "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that any listing or score is accurate, complete, current, or error-free. Churches move, merge, close, change doctrine, and change contact details, and directory and map data can be wrong. Verify everything directly with the church. If a listing is wrong, anyone, and especially the church itself, can ask us to correct or remove it. See Section 9.

7. No warranty

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE, ALL LISTINGS, AND ALL SCORES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY MATCH WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 100.
  • WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHOICE OF CHURCH, YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH ANY CHURCH, OR ANY INTERACTION BETWEEN YOU AND A CHURCH. Those relationships are between you and the church.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for fraud or, where applicable, personal injury).

9. Disputed listings, corrections, and takedown

We want listings to be accurate and we take disputes seriously, especially from the churches themselves.

  • Corrections and removal. If you are a church or its authorized representative and you believe your listing is inaccurate, that your score misrepresents your congregation, or that you do not want to be listed, use the report option on the listing page or write to our listings address (published in Section 18 the moment its mailbox is live) with the church name, address, the specific issue, and your relationship to the church. We will review and, where appropriate, correct the listing, add a note, adjust or hide the score, or remove the listing.
  • Right to be delisted. A church may request removal from the Service. We honor good-faith delisting requests from a verified representative of the church.
  • Copyright / DMCA. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright contact via the route in Section 18. We are registering a designated agent with the US Copyright Office; the agent's details will be published here when that listing is live. A valid notice includes: identification of the work, identification of the infringing material and its location, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized, and your signature. We will respond to valid notices and provide a counter-notice process consistent with the DMCA (17 U.S.C. 512).

We may keep a record of disputes and our responses for audit and legal reasons.

10. Intellectual property and OpenStreetMap / ODbL data

  • Our content. Except for third-party data described below and content you or churches submit, the Service, its design, its taxonomy of beliefs and traditions, its scoring methodology, and its compiled database are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You get no other rights.
  • OpenStreetMap data. Some church location and place data is derived from OpenStreetMap and is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. We attribute it as "(c) OpenStreetMap contributors" (see our attribution page). OpenStreetMap map data is (c) OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the ODbL. Where our database includes or is derived from ODbL-licensed data, the ODbL and its share-alike terms may apply to the derived database; the OpenStreetMap-derived portion of our data remains subject to the ODbL and nothing in these Terms restricts rights that license grants.
  • Your and churches' submissions. If you submit content (a correction, a claim, a review, a description), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use it to operate and promote the Service, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. You remain responsible for what you submit.

11. Church-representative (claim a listing) terms

If you claim or manage a church listing, you additionally agree that:

  • You are an authorized representative of that church and will tell the truth about your role. We may verify your authority and may revoke a claim if verification fails or authority ends.
  • Information you add or edit must be accurate and not misleading. You will keep it reasonably current.
  • Claiming a listing does not let you delete or fabricate our independent belief-match score, though you may submit corrections and context, and you may request score review or removal under Section 9. Scores are not directly editable by a claimed church; corrections flow through review.
  • Paid or premium church features, if any, are governed by the additional terms and pricing shown at purchase. Consumer use of the Service is free; certain church-verification and premium features may be paid, and their billing, renewal, and refund terms will be disclosed at purchase before you pay.
  • You will not use a claimed listing to spam, harvest seeker data, or contact users except as the Service allows and the user permits.

12. Fees, free use, and no paid API

Consumer use of the Service is free. We may charge for church profile claiming/verification and for premium consumer features. We do not currently offer a paid API or bulk data license. We may change features and pricing prospectively with notice.

13. Third-party links and churches

The Service links to church websites and other third-party sites and shows third-party data. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party sites, their content, or your dealings with any church. Your relationship with any church is solely between you and that church.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 15, and 16) survive termination.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will provide notice, for example by posting the new Terms with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notifying account users. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The parties submit to the state and federal courts located in Arizona. These Terms do not currently include an arbitration clause or a class-action waiver.

17. Miscellaneous

  • If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a business transfer.
  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.

18. Contact

Our support, listings, and legal email addresses will be published here the moment their mailboxes are live. Until then: listing corrections go through the report option on each listing page, and data questions go through the controls on the settings page. We do not publish a postal address on this site. Rockstarr LLC is an Arizona limited liability company; parties needing to effect formal legal service can locate the entity through the Arizona Corporation Commission's public records.
